Smoky Mountain Lodge

What Clients Say

“My 30 days at Smoky Mountain Lodge of Pasadena Villa gave me the skills I needed to get back to living and deeply appreciating my beautiful life. The staff was phenomenal: passionate and compassionate, deeply attentive and knowledgeable. The groups were educational, empowering, and supportive. I cannot say enough about how remarkable it was to be in a space where everyone genuinely understood the pain that led me there.”

“I have been to three other residential treatment centers and I can say without a doubt that Smoky Mountain Lodge was by far the best I’ve experienced. The support was phenomenal, from nurses and techs to therapists to the aftercare team and culinary team! I experienced some significant struggles while here and learned a lot about myself and about ways to deal and cope with my mental health. Even in the struggles, I felt 100% taken care of and like staff had my best interest at heart.”

Grateful Alum

“I cannot say enough wonderful things about this mental health facility nestled at the foothills of the Smoky Mountains. The environment itself is peaceful and healing, providing the perfect backdrop for recovery and self-growth. The staff here truly stands out — they are caring, friendly, patient, and genuinely supportive. You can feel that they are passionate about helping each person who walks through their doors. They treat you with respect, compassion, and understanding, and they go above and beyond to make sure you feel safe, welcomed, and valued during every step of your journey.”

Grateful Alum

“I was scared going into treatment but the staff at Smoky Mountain Lodge made me feel so welcomed and safe! They have great groups here and the facility is very accommodating with any dietary needs as well. The techs are very kind, and the garden outside is peaceful. You can go outside anytime throughout the day. Animal Assisted Therapy was a great experience with Pasadena Villa. They treat you with respect and are here to help. I feel extremely grateful for this experience.”

“I came to Pasadena Villa Smoky Mountain Lodge for treatment for bipolar disorder, and my experience has been very positive. The staff have been incredibly accommodating and supportive of my needs throughout my stay. I also stepped down into their PHP program, which has been very beneficial for continuing progress and structure. The medication management here was excellent. My medications were monitored and adjusted weekly until we found the right balance, which made a big difference for me. Another thing I appreciated is that the lodge doesn’t feel like a hospital environment at all, which made the whole experience much more comfortable and less stressful. Most importantly, Pasadena Villa helped me learn coping skills that actually work for me. They also helped me understand my personal triggers and warning signs for bipolar, along with education on foods and drinks that can support better mental health. Overall, it has been a very helpful and supportive place for recovery.”

“Going to SML was a positive experience for my 22 year old adult child. It provided the structure, quality care, and tools she needs to make better life choices. A beautiful and restorative setting along with good food were very healing for her. Extras like weekly animal therapy gave her something to look forward to. She was in the residential program followed by partial hospitalization for a total of two months this summer. I highly recommend SML!”

“Pasadena Villa saved my life. I am forever indebted to this place and the amazing staff. My stay was comfortable, the food was some of the best that I’ve ever had and all of therapists, nurses, psych techs, and utilities were available 24/7 day and night. I truly couldn’t have asked for a better community in my healing and recovery. I wish that I could take these people with me in the future wherever I go!”

Grateful Alum

When I arrived, I was struggling more than I could admit, but I left feeling hopeful, grounded, and truly myself again. The healing I experienced there went deeper than I ever expected—emotionally, mentally, and even spiritually.”

The Stables Autism Program

What Clients Say

“This is a wonderful place. My son spent three months at the stables. We had been struggling for 12 years trying to find something that would work for him. I thought he was lost to us. Not only did The Stables give me hope, the family sessions with Cheryl Brown helped me to understand my son in a way I had never done before. My son’s confidence and self awareness has grown exponentially due to his time at the Stables. Cheryl also recommended clear and specific follow-up treatment that is helping us maintain and continue my son’s path to independence.”

Grateful Parent of an Alum

“Stables was a transformative experience for my son. He arrived there deeply depressed, anxious, with chronic ocd. Left so much calmer with new strategies for coping and being around others. He felt loved and supported at all times and now he has returned has been able to start a job which is going well. I have recommended Stables to other parents who have tried other treatments without success.”

Grateful Alum

“The Stables program changed my brother’s life in the best possible way. I cannot say better things about this program. The staff have great expertise and are kind, patient, and creative when it comes to their care. It is such an individualized experience for each patient so they get real hands-on treatment that goes to the heart of some of their biggest mental health struggles. The animal treatment therapy was especially transformative for my brother. The program makes sure to connect each patient with their farm life, including horses, pigs, dogs and sheep. My brother, who was grieving the loss of our father immensely, found great comfort in his sessions with the horses.”

Grateful Alum

“A family member was a client at the Stables for the summer of 2023. He received professional and compassionate care during his stay. The environment at the Stables is skillfully designed to promote healing. The staff exhibited genuine concern for all clients in the program. Client/staff ratios are exceptional providing plenty of opportunities for informal counseling and guidance. The bucolicc country setting with horses, goats and other assorted animals, also promotes recovery and growth.”

Great Lakes

What Clients Say

“Words cannot begin to describe how thankful I am for Pasadena Villa Great Lakes! I was at the lowest point I’ve ever been at when I came to PVGL. I was met at the door with nothing but compassion and understanding … The programs taught me skills and coping strategies to use in everyday life. They taught me how to cope with my strong emotions and showed me how I wasn’t alone. You meet people going through similar struggles as you. It helps to know you’re not alone in your fight.”

Grateful Alum

“I would say that Pasadena Villa saved my life but as a friend said, Pasadena gave you the skills to save your own life. I am forever grateful for my time at Pasadena. It allowed me to heal and now flourish.”

Grateful Alum

Communications with admissions, billing department, therapists, and the doctor were effective & received in a timely manner. The client service representative went above & beyond in sending me updates and answering my questions during my daughter’s stay. Upon discharge, my daughter was glowing & genuinely smiling – what more could I ask for?”

“If you need help, or mental health help, please seek out Pasadena Villa Great Lakes. I lost my wife and was in the worst place I could be at 31 years old. This facility helped me become a better person.”

Grateful Alum

“They took great care of my family member, who was suffering from mental health and addiction issues. My family member loved the staff and received probably the BEST and most supportive therapy (DBT) of all the places they have frequented in Michigan. Kudos to the staff.”

Grateful Alum

“SAVED MY LIFE! Before Pasadena, I was struggling with my mental health. I was in crisis, and I felt immediately better after just a couple therapy sessions. The staff is absolutely amazing. The therapeutic approach and the schedule keeps you going. Having staff accessible all the time is definitely a plus. All staff are so welcoming and understanding and accommodating to your specific diagnosis. I couldn’t have chosen a better program then what Pasadena provides.”

The Grove

What Clients Say

“I would highly recommend Pasadena Villa after my 30 day treatment at this facility. From the first day to now, I was able to improve my social skills, medication management, and eating habits. The staff and my peers were very kind and made me feel accepted into the group. I no longer struggle in managing my medications with the routines that I learned here.”

Grateful Alum

“Pasadena Villa saved my life. As a client, I felt supported by the staff. The therapists, doctors, RNs, techs, even the kitchen staff were invested in my care. The structure and schedule was a challenge at first. I wanted to rebel and do it my way. But I was there for help and I needed to trust the process. The groups were focused and helpful. I left with so many new tools and resources for the future of my mental health journey. I’ve joined the alumni and plan to keep in touch with the Grove family.”

Grateful Alum

“As a mental health professional, I’ve referred several clients to Pasadena Villa – The Grove and have consistently had excellent experiences. Their clinical team is responsive, compassionate, and collaborative throughout the entire treatment process. Clients and families often share positive feedback about the individualized care and support they receive.”

Grateful Clinical Partner

“I was very anxious about coming to The Grove, after being in short term crisis stabilization programs multiple times over the years, I wasn’t confident in my capacity for healing and change. I was also wary of the program and how it would be operated, as I have had poor experiences in past programs, in addition to having a professional background in the mental health field.

Thankfully, I was very surprised by the program, the staff, as well as the facility. The building and rooms are kept clean and in good order. All three meals are prepared by a dedicated culinary team. Groups are held throughout the day, every day, with intro and wrap up groups book-ending each day’s programming. I met with a psychiatric provider and therapist weekly and had access to on-site nursing staff around the clock.

The accessibility and support of staff have been incredible and have been a major factor in my recovery. I always felt safe and cared for here and never felt like I was being written off or ignored. People here listened to me and made space for my struggles.

Coming to the Grove was one of the best decisions I could have made for my mental health treatment. Navigating treatment has always been hard to do as an openly queer, transgender man. It was a big relief for me to heal in a place where I wasn’t simply tolerated but celebrated. I felt secure enough to let my guard down and begin the painful process of healing from past trauma.

I will be returning home renewed, affirmed and ready to continue in my recovery.”

Grateful Alum

“A family member went here and was treated with respect and kindness. The level of care he received was excellent, as the staff really cared about his wellbeing, his growth and his progress after leaving The Grove.”
